Happy birth... New year! !

Bonne année à tous !

For us, 2025 is starting beautifully after a magical end of the year spent in Bangkok, which remains as vibrant and luminous as ever. The CentralWorld fireworks display, with its giant screens and open-air concerts, was a grand spectacle. The children were mesmerized, captivated by the colorful rockets lighting up the sky.

But that's not all. Anaïs had organized a surprise: a dinner at Weaver, a restaurant perched on the 9th floor of a luxury hotel. An incredible culinary experience in a chic and intimate setting, far from our everyday lives as globe-trotters. Even though the setting was a bit stuffy, we enjoyed every moment. Well... on our way back, I cheerfully said "Happy Birthday" to the chef instead of "Happy New Year." How embarrassing...

To top it all off, we had booked a hotel just a few minutes' walk from CentralWorld. This choice proved invaluable because after Martin, it was Marion's turn to feel a bit ill. Fortunately, everyone is feeling better now, and we are ready to tackle 2025 under the best auspices.

Chatuchak!

Before leaving this vibrant city, we took a detour to Chatuchak Market, one of the largest markets in the world.

More than 15,000 stalls divided into sections where everything is sold: clothing, handicrafts, accessories, plants, furniture, and of course, a multitude of local flavors to discover. It’s a giant maze where it’s easy to lose track of time… and your bearings!

We made a few finds, but Anaïs still regrets not buying those famous shoes that caught her eye. It will be a good excuse to come back one day! (Between writing this article and its publication on our blog, the shoes found their place in the bag...)

Cap sur Koh Samui

After New Year's Eve, it's time for us to completely change our scenery. Heading to Surat Thani, where we will take a ferry to join Koh Samui, our first stop in the Gulf of Thailand islands.

Koh Samui is a living postcard: white sandy beaches lined with palm trees, turquoise waters, Buddhist temples, and an atmosphere that is both peaceful and lively. It is also a sought-after destination, especially during this holiday season. We expect to run into people :-)

For now, we are finishing our packing and preparing to take an early morning flight. The children are excited, and so are we. A new year, a new adventure begins, and we can't wait to discover what Koh Samui has to offer.

See you soon for the continuation!

Thank you for continuing to follow us and share our adventures. Your messages and support motivate us to recount every step of this unique journey.

We will meet very soon to share our first impressions of Koh Samui… and perhaps a few surprises along the way.

Until then, Happy New Year 2025 to everyone! May your wildest projects come true.

Nuss, Ju, Marion aka Sushi, and Martino the Dino.
