We are leaving Mango Moon, a little slice of paradise, with its unique charm and its outdoor shower under the stars. Next stop: Lovina, in northern Bali, famous for its dolphins. It’s still just as hot here! We drop our bags at the Rini Hotel, where the 34°C pool barely cools us down.
The next morning, we wake up before dawn to head out to sea in search of dolphins.

At first, we’re a bit disappointed to see a dozen small boats lined up, as if on a dolphin hunt. But soon, the first jumps appear: the kids scream with excitement, their eyes wide open—"To the right! In front!"
Julien jumps into the water at the captain’s invitation. Underwater, he hears the dolphins "talking" to each other, and suddenly, they swim right past him—an incredible experience. Anaïs dives in too, a bit nervous, imagining a shark might crash the party, but the dolphins quickly steal all the attention.
Back at the hotel, we explore Lovina and its surroundings. We often eat in local warungs, though an occasional pizza or burger sneaks onto the menu. Lovina is also full of Hindu temples, where people pray, make offerings, and care for sacred statues—the presence of religion here is unmistakable and adds to the local atmosphere.
The Rini Hotel has a lush garden bursting with fresh fruit—bananas, pineapples, mangoes—all growing right there and ending up on our breakfast table.
The kids had two intense days playing with three children from Évian (France). They’re still talking about it!
For those wondering about the videos—yes, we have plenty! Drone, GoPro, everything! But our laptop is struggling with 4K editing, so for now, you’ll have to settle for a short dolphin teaser.
Tomorrow, we leave Lovina for eastern Bali, where we’ve planned a relaxed two-week stay with minimal travel.
